about NGO academy

'Active Citizens Fund' is aiming to improve the capacity of non-governmental sector organisations through regional leaders’ capacity building.

'NGO Academy' is inviting to a long term learning process that aims to provide all participants with a chance to become change makers in their organisations and communities. In a long run, the programme aims to strengthen the NGO sector in regions - to help smaller organisations to achieve their goals, participate in local level policy making processes, adapt social entrepreneurship strategies, plan and implement their social business ideas.

Non-governmental sector organisations could apply to participate in 'NGO Academy 2021/2022’. 2 or 3 participants from the organisation will be able to choose to participate in one of the two programs consisting of 5 modules: 'Social leaders' or 'Social entrepreneurship' program. The length of each program is 6 months.

The value of the study program per organisation is 4000 EUR.


INTENSIVE TRAINING

Intensive online training will take place from the 15th - 17th of September 2021.

At the first stage 45 organisation representatives will be invited to participate in three day-long practical training providing a chance to identify your organisation’s needs and challenges, find best solutions as well as be introduced to the NGO academy’s program.


INTENSIVE PRACTICAL TRAINING SELECTION PROCESS

Terms and conditions for first stage intensive training participants:

  • 1 representative individual per organisation.

  • Participating organisations have to have at least 2-3 staff members and/or volunteers.

  • The representative individual has to be a leading worker of the organisation, with the power to make decisions concerning the management of the organisation.

  • Priority will be given to organisations that implement their activities at the local level and/or those who work with ethnic minority communities.

All candidates have to fill the online registration form before the 20th of August.

The chosen participants will be informed using email details provided in the online registration form.

IMPORTANT: Participating in the first stage training is a mandatory condition to everyone wanting to take part in the second stage half year long training program.


MODULE PROGRAM

Only participants in the first stage will be able to participate in the second stage of the program.

At this stage each organisation will be represented by 2-3 representatives. All teams will be selected to participate in one of the two programs: 'Social leaders' or 'Social entrepreneurship'. Each program could accommodate 10 different teams.


Terms and conditions for second stage long term training participants:

  • Organisation representative participated in the first stage intensive training.

  • Participating organisations have to have at least 2-3 staff members and/or volunteers. At least one of them has to be a leading worker of the organisation, with the power to make decisions concerning the management of the organisation.

  • Each team has to fill the online registration form presenting team members, needs and challenges of the organisation as well as pick one of the two types of the program.

The link to the online registration form will be given only to the intensive training participants.



Criteria of the selection process:

  • Motivation of the organisation - suggested themes presented by NGO academy suit your organisation’s field of work, the program meets your organisation’s needs.

  • The team of the organisation will be able to commit to long term training.


Priority will be given to organisations that implement their activities at the local level and/or those who work with ethnic minority communities.

Organisation's team will be interviewed by the committee members of the selection process.

The chosen participants will be informed using email details provided in the online registration form.


TWO TYPES OF THE STUDY PROGRAM

Each program - Social leaders and Social entrepreneurship - will include 10 organisation teams (around 40-60 participants).

Module themes will be adapted to the expressed needs and challengers of the participants. Each module will consist of theoretical and practical activities as well as individual consultations with lecturers. Each program will consist of 5 modules. After completing each module the team will see results of their practical work. The program will last 6 months.




Social leaders program is likely include these modules:

  • Strategic planning

  • Volunteering and community

  • Project literacy and fundraising

  • Practical individualised task as a last module


Social entrepreneurship program is likely to include modules:

  • Financial literacy

  • Communication

  • Social entrepreneurship module

  • Marketing

  • Sales

  • Practical individualised task as a last module





SELF - EVALUATION MEETING

At the end of the NGO academy module program in April 2022, we will organise a self-evaluation meeting where all participants will have to provide feedback regarding project results, changes in the organisation and their impact as well as present individualised task results.
